Wings of the Doves

The Gospel Music Channel is relying on more than prayer to deliver viewers as it telecasts the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards for the first time Wednesday. The network has formed partnerships with the association, record companies and other groups to promote the telecast.

In addition to promos appearing on Gospel Music Channel, TV spots will air on morning news shows and talk shows, including “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Radio ads will air on country and Christian stations and the telecast will be promoted online with email blasts and Dove Awards pages on iTunes and Amazon.com.

“This major marketing push is indicative of the value we place on the Dove Awards franchise,” said Gospel Music Channel President Charles Humbard.
