Do Not Disturb Jerry O’Connell proves that cheaters never prosper.

The actor and his “Do Not Disturb” castmates Niecy Nash, Molly Stanton, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Jolene Purdy were on hand at a promotional event for the upcoming Fox sitcom Wednesday at the Grove shopping center in Los Angeles.

The stars of the hotel-set comedy teamed up with local radio station 104.3 MYfm for a hotel-themed obstacle course, with prizes sponsored by Hotel Shangri-La.

Five contestants picked at random participated in a race that included dressing up as a bellhop, making a bed, finding a door hanger in a stack of towels, preparing and carrying a tray of water and dishes and finding a key hidden in one of several suitcases.

Do Not Disturb The cast members were paired up with each contestant mostly to cheer them on, but Mr. O’Connell took a more proactive role in his contestant’s run, helping his contestant put on her bellhop jacket, much to Ms. Nash’s objections.

Even with that assistance, though, Mr. O’Connell and his partner came in last. The win went to Team Ferguson.

“Do Not Disturb” premieres Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.
