Any lunch or dinner conversation last week with television industry insiders probably included some well-grounded kvetching about the declining value of stock-based compensation. Stock price declines among media companies have sucked the air out of many a retirement plan lately, beating even the Dow Jones Industrial Average in a race to the basement.
