Kevin Reilly on NBC: Stop Stalking Me
January 13, 2009 9:45 AM

Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly kicked off the Fox portion of TCA with what just might be the line of the day.
"NBC for me is like the crazy ex-wife I can't get away from," he told reporters.
He tried out the line on a TVWeek reporter just before the session.

Best thing that ever happened to Kevin was his dismissal. He hit the "tv lottery".
Why NBC would fire the only employee with a clue, especially in a company otherwise chalk-full of dolts, is an all-timer.
Mindblowing stupidity..but then again, they're NBC.

Reilly put some really great shows on NBC (way better than the crap we got from them this fall), but he had no clue and still has no clue how to program. He put a teeny bopper family drama on Fridays when the kids are out chasing each other at football games (Friday Night Lights). He put Studio 60 after Heroes. After Heroes. He tried to kill Law and Order with a move to Friday where all it really needed was a half way decent show at 9 for a lead in with decent demos.
He still hasn't figured out how to program. He's aired House in I believe now 4 time slots in 2 years, after it had aired in at least 3 before that time. Ditto for Bones. Kitchen Nightmares was laid out to die on Thursdays this fall.
Great judge at what's good and what's bad. Horrible scheduler.
