Fox Crowns Sunday; ‘Moonlight’ Hits High
November 19, 2007 10:50 AM
Fox won Sunday with its comedy block, boosted by some NFL overrun.
“The Simpsons” (5.3 preliminary Nielsen rating among adults 18 to 49), “King of the Hill” (4.3), “Family Guy” (5.4) and “American Dad” (4.0) all either matched or exceeded last week’s numbers, with “King” having its best night in four years.
ABC and NBC tied for second, with ABC airing NASCAR overrun (2.4) and “The 2007 American Music Awards” (4.8, up slightly from last year). NBC had “Football Night in America” (3.0) and “Sunday Night Football,” featuring the New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills (4.9).
CBS came in third, but won among total viewers and showed across-the-board gains from last week with “60 Minutes” (3.1), “The Amazing Race” (3.8), “Cold Case” (3.2) and “Shark” (2.4).
The CW was flat with “CW Now” (0.4), “Life Is Wild” (0.4) and repeats.
Also: On Friday night, CBS’ “Moonlight” hit a series high (2.7) to help the network win the night. Also, for the first time since its premiere, “Moonlight” maintained its “Ghost Whisperer” lead-in.
Note: This blog will update less frequently this week due to the holiday.

Hurray for Moonlight! CBS, don't even think about canceling it if the strike causes it to have only half a season 1. The fans will come back next fall for Season 2.

Great news about Moonlight--and no surprise. It is the best show this season. Moonlight fans are here to stay...and so should be the show.

Maybe one of the strike's few bright sides will be that the networks can see actual proof that some shows can "find an audience" if given the chance.
Moonlight has steadily improved creatively since its debut; it's good to see the numbers reflecting that.

Moonlight is a terrific show and I am very happy to read the great news about the ratings! Hopefully CBS takes notice of this fantastic show, the increase in ratings, the fact that it has consistently won the coveted demographic of 18-49, and the large fan base the show is amassing. Web sites dedicated to Moonlight are popping up all over the Internet and fans are wanting to discuss their favorite show. Moonlight is my favorite show and I cannot get enough of it! CBS, give us more, please!

I had my doubts about Moonlight from the beginning. I really didn't want to like it as I was looking forward to Demons and thought that this might feel like settling. Surprise - it did it! First episode and I was smitten with the vampire. I am now a very dedicated and loyal fan. Like many others, I have finally found a good reason to stay home on Friday nights! Thanks CBS!

Moonlight has some of the best chemistry between characters on television. This show is going to continue to grow and will soon have a huge fan base. Don't even consider taking this one off the air. It is the best thing going on a Friday night.

Am I the only one with a deja vu feeling about Moonlight? I think CBS will pull a Jericho on this series, aka ending the series right as the fanbase begins to build. If they cancel the show, I suggest fans mail pigs' blood (instead of nuts) to the CBS this time!
BTW, what's with CBS only ordering half a season of Jericho? It's not like Jericho was a show that goes way over budget like Dark Angel, Firefly, Enterprise, Viva Laughlin, Pushing Daisies or Bionic Woman (2007).

I love the moonlight series. Beth and Mick have true chemistry. I love that there are vamp stories without the strong sexual overtones-yet with honesty and love.
