Tom Petner

Tom Petner is an award-winning journalist and media executive. Most recently Petner was Editor of the broadcast industry newsletter, "ShopTalk" and Director of Temple University's journalism program, the Multimedia Urban Reporting Lab (MURL). Previously, Petner led several successful broadcast news operations, first as Vice President and News Director at WWOR Television in the New York market, and then as Vice President of News at WTAE Television in Pittsburgh. His many newsroom credits include service as an Assignment Manager, Executive Producer and Managing Editor at CBS O&O stations in Philadelphia and New York. His online management experience includes roles as an Executive Producer, Publisher and SVP at the online start-up APBNews.com and Chief Operating Office at Vault.com.
