All Star Game

Fox’s coverage of Major League Baseball’s All Star Game definitely picked off ratings from other shows, sending “Wipeout” and “I Survived a Japanese Game Show” to series lows last night.

A record-setting 15-inning affair, the All Star Game captured a 4.5 in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic, according to preliminary Nielsen data. That’s up 10% in the demo from last year’s outing. These numbers are time zone-adjusted, so shares weren’t available.

The Summer Classic also increased 16% year-to-year in total viewers with 14.5 million.

Fox finished first with a 4.2 rating.

ABC’s “Wipeout” (3.1/10) slipped 18% from its previous summer average and “Japanese” (2.4/7) dropped 14%. ABC took second with a 2.7 rating/8 share.

Third-place NBC, with a 2.2 rating/7 share, had average showings from “Celebrity Family Feud” (2.0/7) and “America’s Got Talent” (3.1/9).

CBS’ “Big Brother” (2.2/6) Tuesday start faltered from last year, dipping 15%. CBS was fourth with a 1.6 rating/5 share.

The CW was fifth with a 0.5 rating/2 share.
