July 21, 2008 11:00 AM

High School Musical

ABC’s “High School Musical: Get in the Picture” hit a sour note in the ratings during its premiere last night, finishing fourth in its hour.

“Musical” pulled in a 1.1/3 in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic, according to preliminary Nielsen data. That makes it ABC’s second lowest-rated premiere this summer, a tick ahead of the canceled “Dance Machine.”

ABC finished fourth for the night with a 1.3 rating/4 share.

Fox and NBC shared first place, with animation repeats on Fox and a new episode of “Dateline” (1.9/6) on NBC. Both ended the night with a 1.5 rating/5 share.

CBS was third with a 1.4 rating/4 share and The CW was fifth with a 0.3 rating/1 share.

On Friday, CBS’ “Flashpoint” (1.5/5) declined 21% from last week’s premiere. First-place The CW body-slammed the night with “Friday Night Smackdown” (1.6/6), up 33% from last week to its highest showing since March 2007.

ABC and CBS tied for second with a 1.3 rating/5 share, and NBC and Fox tied for fourth with a 1.2 rating/5 share.

Fox’s “Cops” (1.4/6, 1.7/7) and “America’s Most Wanted” (1.7/6) captured Saturday, giving Fox a first-place 1.6 rating/6 share for the night. The rest of the nets placed as follows: NBC was second with a 0.9 rating/3 share and ABC and CBS tied for third with a 0.8 rating/3 share.
