July 2, 2008 12:39 PM

WipeoutABC’s “Wipeout” held steady from last week’s solid debut, while “I Survived a Japanese Game Show” dropped 16% in last night’s ratings.

As I desperately try to resist the easy “‘Wipeout’ didn’t wipeout” analogy, ABC’s “Wipeout” dipped just 5% from last week, landing at a 3.5/12 in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic, according to preliminary Nielsen data.

“I Survived a Japanese Game Show” (2.6/8) and “Primetime: The Outsiders” (2.1/6) both fell 16% from last week. “Game Show” also lost 26% of its lead-in from “Wipeout.” ABC finished second for Tuesday night with a 2.7 rating/6 share, tied with Fox.

“Hell’s Kitchen” (3.6/11) remained steady from last week, while “Moment of Truth” (1.8/6) dropped 25% from its most recent showing two weeks ago.

NBC narrowly captured the top spot of the night with a 2.8 rating/9 share, with an on-par “America’s Got Talent” (3.3/10) and “Celebrity Family Feud” (1.9/7), which slipped 17% from last week’s premiere.

CBS took fourth with a 1.5/5, and The CW was fifth with a 0.4/1.
