Olympic Ratings Take Another Dip

OlympicsThe Beijing Olympics dipped to its lowest rating yet Thursday last night.

Pulling in a 7.2 rating/21 share in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic, according to preliminary Nielsen research, Day 14 of the Games dropped 3% compared with the 14th day of the 2004 Athens Games.

Despite the drop, NBC dominated the night, outscoring the other networks combined by 41%.

CBS placed second with a 2.1/6, with an on-par “Big Brother” (2.1/7) and slightly above average “Flashpoint” (1.9/5).

Fox took third with pre-season football between the San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago Bears, catching a 1.5/5.

ABC nabbed fourth with a 1.1/3 and The CW was fifth with a 0.6/2.
