‘Bachelorette’ Dips as CBS Wins Slow Holiday Monday

ABC’s “The Bachelorette” took a dip after its premiere last week, while CBS narrowly took Monday night with repeats.

On Memorial Day, “The Bachelorette” scored a 2.1 rating/6 share among adults 18-49 and 6 million viewers, according to preliminary Nielsen figures. Last night’s episode was down 30% from the premiere episode last week. At 10 p.m., the season premiere of “Here Come the Newlyweds” (1.9/5, 5 million) edged out the year-ago premiere of “The Mole” in the time period by 12%.
NBC aired a special two-hour “Dateline” (1.6/5, 7.1 million), followed by a new “Medium” (2.1/6, 7.7 million).
CBS aired encores of “The Big Bang Theory,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Two and a Half Men,” “Rules of Engagement” and “CSI: Miami.” Fox went with repeats of “House” and “Bones” while The CW aired back-to-back encores of “One Tree Hill.”
For the night: CBS (2.1/6, 7.2 million) won the night in the demo while NBC (1.8/5, 7.3 million) led in total viewers. ABC (2.0/6, 5.7 million) placed second, followed by Fox (1.6/4, 5.1 million) and The CW (0.4/1, 1.2 million).
