Fox’s “Mental” scored a 2.1 rating/6 share among adults 18-49 and 4.2 million viewers, according to preliminary Nielsen figures. Although last night’s premiere was down 50% for the previous four-week average in the time period, “Mental” built on its “House” repeat lead in by 24%.

ABC kicked off the night with back-to-back episodes of “According to Jim” (1.2/4, 3.9 million and 1.1/3, 3.6 million), followed by the second part of the film “Diamonds” (0.6/2, 3.1 million). Last night’s conclusion posted a loss over the first part, which aired Sunday night to a 0.9/3.

The finale of “Reaper” (0.9/3, 2.2 million) on The CW led into the series premiere of the reality show “Hitched or Ditched” (0.7/2, 1.5 million). Last night’s debut came in below the previous four-week average in the time period, which was a 1.0/2. The network averaged a 0.9/3 among women 18-34 for the night.

CBS aired repeats of “NCIS,” “The Mentalist” and “Without a Trace” to win the night in the demo.

NBC’s two-hour special “TV’s 50 Funniest Phrases” (2.1/6, 6.6 million) led into a repeat of “Law & Order: SVU.”
