Barely a Buffer on CBS.com

CBS has earned praise for ease of use of episode streaming on its Web site. So I hop over for a quick test drive. Smack in the middle of the home page is a menu bar with various shows listed above it. I select “Jericho” and watch a few minutes from a recent episode.
The site makes me choose which type of player I want (I hate any impediments and road blocks to instant viewing), but once I opt for Windows Media, the video plays immediately.
I can even move the scroll bar a few minutes ahead with only about one second of buffering. Overall, the video performance appears to be improving on the Web site. Of course, that doesn’t make me more interested in watching the shows though. Oh well – you can’t have everything, can you?
