AMC is developing “Sugar Hill,” a police drama set on the streets of Harlem in the 1960s, the Hollywood Reporter says. Alex Winter and Steven Pearl are writing. Pearl and Allan Loeb, who have a first-look deal with Fox TV Studios, are executive producers. “As with all our other projects, this seemed to lend itself to unique and interesting characters and the promise of a really cinematic series that could stand side by side with our library of films,” AMC VP original programming Jeremy Elice tells the trade paper.
