Nov 6, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Cablevision Systems swung to a profit in the third quarter from a loss a year ago, the company reported Thursday. Net income was $27.1 million, or 9 cents a share, compared to a loss of $79.3 million, or 27 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose 15% to $1.7 billion from $1.5 billion a year ago. CEO James Dolan said “despite the current economic conditions,” the gains were fueled by “ongoing strength of our core businesses as the company’s cable operations, Madison Square Garden and Rainbow all generated solid revenue growth for the quarter.” Cablevision’s earnings release can be found here.
