CBS Would Be a Hard Sell for Redstone

Crain’s New York says media mogul Sumner Redstone may not be able to sell CBS because there probably wouldn’t be any buyers. “There would be strategic buyers for Viacom,” says Alan Gould, senior media analyst at Natixis Bleichroeder. “I’m not as sure there would be a strategic buyer for CBS.” CBS’ reliance on advertising revenue makes the network a hard sell, Crain’s New York says.

  1. I’ve seen this story and a few of the updates, but am curious why there is never any mention of “the CW” which…if I’m not mistaken is partially owned by CBS. It’s the “C” in the “CW” right? What would this sale (if it were to happen) mean for the CW Network? I’d be interested in hearing more that.
