‘Days’ Gets 18-Month Renewal From NBC

Nov 12, 2008  •  Post A Comment

NBC has renewed soap opera “Days of Our Lives” for an additional 18 months, Daily Variety reports. The pickup, significantly shorter than the previous five-year commitment the show received during its last renewal, reflects daytime TV’s ongoing struggles. The network may add another year to its deal should the show meet expectations, the trade paper says. NBC Universal’s Jeff Zucker previously suggested the soap opera might be canceled altogether.

  1. While I no longer view Days on a regular basis, I have a fondness for several of the actors from that show, such as Diedre Hall and Kristian Alfonso, among others. The show is very high demographic-wise and does well for NBC. They should hold onto it.
If not, it could go to CBS or ABC-I think either one will gladly take it.
Don’t put it on DirecTV the way they did with Passions-that is the kiss of death.
