Economy Drags on DirecTV

Nov 7, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Despite posting a 14% increase in its third quarter, DirecTV still feels the negative effects of the struggling economy, the Wall Street Journal reports. The largest satellite provider in the U.S. added only 156,000 new subscribers for the quarter, a number that’s 35% down from the same time last year. AT&T’s dropping of DirecTV as a partner during the first quarter also contributed to the satellite company’s woes, the newspaper said.
