The Federal Communications Commission has instituted a rule that will require TV stations to provide contact information for viewers who have questions about closed captioning, TVNewsday reports. The ruling, published Nov. 7, sets out guidelines on how stations should handle immediate complaints about captioning problems as well as give viewers a designated person to contact with general captioning questions and complaints. The station or programming provider will have just 30 days to respond, according to TVNewsday.
