NFL Staying on Network TV

Nov 24, 2008  •  Post A Comment

In the wake of last week’s announcement that the college football Bowl Championship Series would move its big games from ABC to ESPN, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell tells Broadcasting & Cable not to expect any post-season games from his league to air on cable anytime soon. When asked if the NFL post-season would continue to air on a broadcast network, Goodell told B&C, “The broader exposure is something that’s of benefit to us, so I think the answer to that would be yes. The NFL is the only league that continues to be successful on free television, and we’re proud of that.”
