BusinessWeek weighs in on President-elect Barack Obama’s choice to head the Federal Communications Commission. The publication says Obama is considering appointing the first black woman to the post while fielding recommendations from advisers who served in the FCC under Bill Clinton. Among the candidates are Julia Johnson, chair of Video Access Alliance, and Mignon Clyburn, a commissioner for the Public Service Commission of South Carolina. Campaign advisers on telecommunications-related issues Bill Kennard and Reed Hundt, both of whom have held the job before, also are in the running, BusinessWeek says.

Barak, baby…please, PLEASE, appoint an engineer to head up the FCC. Please, no more political hacks, know-it-alls or someone just because he/she is a certain color. I don’t care if she/he is green with purple polka-dots…just hire someone who knows what he/she is doing. Please!
