The New York Times goes behind the scenes as Rosie O’Donnell prepares for her Wednesday one-hour NBC special “Rosie Live.” The special, an attempted revival of the 1960s and 1970s variety show format, will take pages from Sonny and Cher, Ed Sullivan and Carol Burnett, the Times says. “For about the past five years I’ve been pitching this exact show,” O’Donnell tells the Times. “I’ve done it a million times in my head already.”
