The Los Angeles Times says “Hardball” host Chris Matthews recently sat down with Democratic Party officials in Pennsylvania about a possible 2010 run for the U.S. Senate. The MSNBC host and Philadelphia native has been talking about running for the Senate since early this year. The state’s Democrats are hoping for an upset of longtime incumbent Republican Sen. Arlen Specter, and Matthews is the most high-profile of the candidates under consideration, says the paper.
