Post-Election Changes Made at Cable News Nets

Nov 6, 2008  •  Post A Comment

With the election over, the cable news networks unveiled new programming lineups and personnel changes on Wednesday, Daily Variety reports. MSNBC launched a new on-air tagline—“The Power of Change”—that lifts heavily from President-elect Barack Obama’s historic campaign victory, the newspaper notes. The network also changed the name of David Gregory’s “The Race for the White House” to “1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.” Over at CNN, the network’s 8 p.m. offering was renamed “Campbell Brown: No Bias, No Bull” from the pre-election title “Campbell Brown: Election Center,” while Fox News Channel’s “America’s Election HQ” has become “America’s News HQ,” the newspaper reports. The FNC show will be totally revamped next spring when former CNN Headline News commentator Glenn Beck moves into its 5 p.m. time slot, the newspaper notes.
