Former Discovery Times general manager Vivian Schiller is leaving her current post as head of online operations at the New York Times to be president and CEO of National Public Radio, the New York Times reports. “What we were looking for were leadership skills, sort of a quiet, tough humility, the ability to implement and an energy to carry us and the stations forward in a positive way,” NPR Chairman Howard Stevenson told the paper.
