The president and general manager of ABC’s Fresno, Calif., affiliate KFSN-TV resigned Sunday due to racial comments he made while in a jury selection pool. Last week while at Fresno County Superior Court, Bob Hall told a courtroom that he couldn’t be a fair juror due to the defendant being a Hispanic male and research conducted at KFSN showed a high propensity for Hispanic males to commit violent crimes. The judge dismissed Hall and all who heard him. In response to Hall’s resignation, news director Tracey Watkowski told the Fresno Bee, “Bob Hall has admitted that the research he referred to during questioning was his own, and definitely not done by the newsroom or station.”
