The Federal Communications Commission may fine two TV stations for violating the agency’s children’s television advertising rules, Broadcasting & Cable reports. KSTW-TV in Tacoma, Wash., and San Francisco’s KBCW-TV could face a fine of $8,000 apiece for the violations. KSTW is accused of exceeding ad limits by one minute and two minutes in separate cases and for airing two “program-length” commercials in two shows that featured characters similar to those in the programs, B&C says. KBCW’s citation stems from airing a Disney on Ice commercial featuring a Tarzan character in the “Tarzan” show and for failing to include all requisite information in its public file, the publication says.
