WGAW May File False Arrest Suit

Nov 17, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Writers Guild of America West is considering taking legal action against Los Angeles’ Hollywood & Highland commercial complex over the arrest of three of its staffers on Thursday during “American Idol” auditions at the location, Deadline Hollywood Daily reports. The WGA staffers were passing out leaflets to the public about how “Idol” producer FremantleMedia treats its writers when they were “arrested” by security, who then turned them over to the Los Angeles Police Department. WGAW maintains that its members were within their rights to distribute the leaflets and may file a false arrest lawsuit against Hollywood & Highland.
