YouTube will launch live-streaming videos beginning Nov. 22 at its “YouTube Live!” event in the style of startups UStream, Justin.TV, Stickam and Mogulus, reports the Silicon Alley Insider based on information from an unnamed company source. YouTube employees are reportedly talking as if the service’s launch is a definite inevitability. “Of course something could go wrong and they might not launch it,” said the source. A YouTube spokesperson told the Alley Insider, “We’re working with a third party to live-stream our event ‘Live.’ We have no product to announce at this time. The Alley Insider notes live-streaming as costly that could lead to a rise in bandwidth costs and suggest YouTube offer the new service for paying customers only.
