CBS will promote its fall series by putting tiny video screens in thousands of copies of Entertainment Weekly, the Associated Press reports.
The screens, just two and a quarter inches diagonally, will play about 40 minutes of clips from CBS series. A speaker will be embedded below the screen.
According to the AP, "CBS Corp. and Time Warner Inc.’s Entertainment Weekly billed the video advertisement as the first ever to appear in a print magazine. CBS says the video player insert, made by a Los Angeles company called Americhip Inc., will be able to withstand the binding processes and mail delivery."
No word on the cost of doing this.
