Katherine Heigl, who had been off-the-set of 'Grey's Anatomy" so she could make a movie and spend time with her adopted daughter, did not come back on March 1, as expected, EW.com reports.
The article says series creator Shonda Rhimes has agreed to give Katherine Heigl her freedom from the show—and her last episode may have already aired. Heigl has been on the show since it began six years ago, and her tenure has been marked by controversy: She criticized the writers in 2008, complained about working conditions last summer, and took sides in the feud between TR Knight and Isaiah Washington.
Having missed her March 1 return date, EW says Heigl may not be coming back for the final five episodes of the season.
The article adds that paperwork for her to leave isn’t done. ABC Studios declined to comment to EW.
