ABC has announced a new person to head up its primetime ad sales.

The post become vacant when Geri Wang, who previously held the position, was promoted to President of Sales and Marketing for the ABC Television Network earlier this year, replacing Mike Shaw, who stepped down.

Debbie Richman will fill the vacancy, officially taking the title Senior Vice President of Primetime Sales for the ABC Television Network.

Richman comes to ABC from cable, where, since 2008, she was Executive Vice President, Ad Sales, of Lifetime Networks. Lifetime is co-owned by ABC parent Walt Disney Co.

Prior to joining Lifetime, Richman was Managing Director, National Broadcast, at OMD since 2005.

Said Wang in a statement “Debbie is a star in our business, and will be a real asset to our sales team. We’re very happy she’s joining us. She is known for her creative thinking, and the combination of her agency and sales experience will serve ABC well.”

Richman will report to Wang.
