Paltrow Helps Push ‘Glee,’ Fox to Ratings Win

Gwyneth Paltrow’s guest turn on “Glee” helped the Fox musical take top honors in the 18-49 demo Tuesday night, and Fox beat CBS handily for No. 1 for the night in 18-49, according to TVbytheNumbers.com.

Fox ended the night with a 3.6 average rating in the 18-49 demo, topping CBS’s 3.1, NBC’s 2.3 and ABC’s 2.2 rating.

The picture was different in total viewers, where CBS easily won the night with an average of 15.6 million. ABC was second with 10.8 million while Fox limped home in third place with 8.3 million, still better than NBC’s 6.2 million.

At 8 p.m. "Glee" earned a 4.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic, a full point higher than CBS’s "NCIS," which had a 3.9 in the same demo. Hour one of NBC’s "The Biggest Loser" logged a 2.2 and ABC’s "No Ordinary Family" a 1.7, both in the 18-49 demo. CW’s "One Tree Hill" trailed with a 0.9 rating in that demo.

At 9 p.m. the "Dancing With the Stars" results show on ABC tied with CBS’s "NCIS: Los Angeles," both getting a 3.3 rating in the 18-49 demo. The second hour of "The Biggest Loser" had a 2.7, tying with a fresh episode of Fox’s "Raising Hope," also in the 18-49. CW’s "Life Unexpected" managed a 0.6 in the same demo.

The 10 p.m. hour was won by CBS’s "The Good Wife" with a 2.2 rating in 18-49, while ABC’s "Detroit 1-8-7" was tied with NBC’s "Parenthood", both getting a 1.8 in the 18-49 demo.
