Anderson Cooper’s Low CNN Ratings–Will They Hurt Momentum for His Syndicated Talker?

While his syndicated talk show is receiving good interest from television stations, Anderson Cooper’s prime-time program on CNN isn’t faring well with viewers, reports Nellie Andreeva at Deadline.com.

2010 is wrapping up as "Anderson Cooper 360’s" lowest-rated year ever in adults 25-54 and its second-lowest in total viewers since the show’s debut in 2005, the story notes. The program is down 33% year-to-date in viewers 25 to 54 and down 32% in total viewers.

The article points out that this mirrors CNN’s 34% year-to-year drop in both total viewers and the 25-54 demo.

"Still, Cooper’s sharp ratings declines would probably give a pause to Warner Bros., which produces and distributes his daytime talk show, ‘Anderson,’” Andreeva writes. She adds that Nancy Grace’s prime-time show on HLN had been hitting all-time high ratings when she was signed to do a syndicated show last year.
