Could New York's WNBC-TV Be Getting a New Anchor? NY Daily News

New York's WNBC-TV may be getting a new weekend anchor at the station,  reports our friend Richard Huff at  the New York Daily News.

According to the article WNBC is talking with Boston weekend co-anchor Shiba Russell, who has told her station, WCVB, that she is leaving.

Huff writes, that "there's been speculation that part of bringing Russell to Ch. 4 is about planning for the future. That could include, though not immediately, having her become one of the main weekday anchors at the station....Likewise, some of the speculation may stem from Sue Simmons' absence the past month. Simmons, who has been teamed with Chuck Scarborough for decades, was off during the sweeps period for back surgery, according to a station spokeswoman. She's scheduled to return to the anchor desk Jan. 3, the spokeswoman said Monday."
