Interview With Michael Moore Angers Viewers, Prompting Olbermann to Bail Out on Twitter THR
After receiving a flood of angry tweets over a Tuesday interview with Michael Moore, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann has suspended his Twitter account, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The host of "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" spoke with Moore about his $20,000 contribution to bail out WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who is accused of sex crimes, the story notes. Moore said Assange is a "pioneer of free speech" for putting thousands of secret documents on his WikiLeaks site. Moore also called the charge against Assange "a bunch of hooey."
That led to angry tweets from viewers, who said the pair had been flippant when talking about the sex crimes accusations.
Olbermann said he's done with Twitter--for now. "I'll suspend this account until/if this frenzy is stopped," he said in a tweet. The article said he didn't respond to a request for comment.
