On another night of mostly repeat programming, ABC parlayed a decent showing by back-to-back reruns of “Modern Family” into a modest overall win in the key demo, TVbytheNumbers.com reports.

ABC finished the night with a 1.7 average rating in adults 18-49, beating CBS (1.6 average rating), Univision (1.3), NBC (1.2) and Fox (0.9). CBS came out on top in total viewers with an average of 7.6 million to 5.3 million for NBC, 5.1 million for ABC, 3.9 million for Fox and 3.3 million for Univision.

The only fresh episode on the major broadcast networks all night was NBC’s “Undercovers,” which came in fourth in its 8 p.m. time slot behind repeats of ABC’s “The Middle” and “Better With You,” CBS’s “NCIS: Los Angeles” and Fox’s “Human Target.” “Undercovers” limped home with an average rating of 0.9 in adults 18-49.

The two repeats of "Modern Family" in the 9 p.m. hour averaged a 2.1 in the 18-49 demo.
