Oprah Winfrey’s OWN cable network denied a New York Post report on Wednesday that it was in talks to hire  CBS Television Distribution’s Terry Wood, according to The New York Times’ Media Decoder blog.

“Absolutely not true,” Christina Norman, the chief executive of OWN, said about the Post report, The Times said.

Wood announced Monday that she would be leaving her longtime job as the president of creative affairs and development for CTD. At CBS she was involved in creating and managing syndicated franchises including "The Rachael Ray Show," "Dr. Phil,"  “Entertainment Tonight” and “Judge Judy.”

The Post characterized her departure as abrupt and said she was “in talks to take over programming at OWN,” which The Times said "would be a significant development at OWN, given that the channel is coming on the air in exactly one month."
