'Survivor,' 'Criminal Minds' Push CBS to Wednesday Ratings Win TVbytheNumbers

The penultimate episode of "Survivor" and a strong ratings performance by “Criminal Minds” helped CBS win Wednesday night in the Nielsen overnights, according to TVbytheNumbers.com.

CBS won the adults 18-49 demo for the night with a 2.9 rating, followed by NBC (2.6), Fox (2.1), Univision (1.8) and ABC (1.6). CBS’s margin in total viewers was huge, with an average of 12.1 million to NBC’s 7.9 million.

At 8 p.m. "Survivor" collected a 3.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic, while NBC's "The Sing-Off" had a 2.7 and Fox's "Human Target" managed only a 1.5 in the same demo.

At 9 p.m. CBS's "Criminal Minds" held a lead over NBC's "The Sing-Off," 3.2 to 3.0 in the 18-49 demographic. Just behind was Fox's season finale of "Hell's Kitchen" with a 2.6 in the same demo.

Wrapping up the night, CBS's "The Defenders" had a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo at 10 p.m., tied with a repeat episode of “Law & Order: SVU” on NBC.
