'24' Movie Hits a Snag as Fox Rejects Script EW
Fox was careful to end the TV series "24" with a cliffhanger that left the door open for Jack Bauer to continue his counter-terrorist efforts on the big screen, but Fox is not happy with the "24" script, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Screenwriter Billy Ray's script was rejected by the studio, according to the story. Producer Howard Gordon confirmed that the project has been frozen for now, although director Tony Scott and star Kiefer Sutherland are still interested in doing a movie version of "24."
"I was disappointed [Fox] passed on the script but I'm certainly hopeful that the movie will get made at some point," Gordon said, adding, “I do think there is more life in Jack Bauer.”

Someone tell me how you can make a movie version of 24? What's it gonna be called -- 2 ?? One and a half?

It will be a Readers Digest version, so they can still get away with calling it 24 and doing it in two hours.

'24:Redemption' was a TV movie. There was little objection from fans that it was only two hours. The movie idea is great, if they can come up with a good script. Credit Fox for turning down a bad script. It should happen more often at the studios. Look at the talent that was wasted on "How Do You Know"
