Latest Charlie Sheen Incident Gets Curiouser and Curiouser--Reality Show Plastic Surgeon Helped Get Him to Hospital, and a Pal Says the Actor Laughed So Hard at TV That He Had a Hernia Newser, Us, Hollyscoop, Dallas Morning News

In what may be the least credible explanation for hard-partying Charlie Sheen’s latest crisis--but who knows--a friend of the star of “Two and a Half Men” told reporters Friday that Sheen had to be hospitalized because he was laughing so hard at the television that he had a hernia, Newser.com reported.

This was after reports had already surfaced that the actor had been partying hard, smoking cocaine and watching porn--claims that were lavishly detailed by a porn star acquaintance who spoke freely on video, as we reported earlier.

Another twist to the story is the person Sheen called when he realized he needed help. Us Magazine reports that Sheen got connected with plastic surgeon Paul Nassif, the husband of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Adrienne Maloof. Nassif has been seen on the E! show “Dr. 90210.”

"We received a call from his residence on Wednesday morning, because Charlie was in a great deal of pain at that time," the couple told the magazine. "He was able to direct someone to call Paul, who spoke to him over the phone. We then made a 911 call, as did someone at his house. He was ultimately admitted in the hospital for abdominal pain."

Meanwhile, an addiction specialist told Hollyscoop that Sheen may be headed for a bad end, possibly even death. "He clearly has issues with addiction, pornography and prostitution,” said Blake LeVine, founder and president of the crisis support community Will Listen, who is featured on the new OWN Network. “While he may enjoy this lifestyle, it will only lead to negative problems including overdoses, losing his family and potentially death.”

So what’s the latest health update on Sheen after his third hospitalization in three months? Reportedly the crisis is under control and the actor, who does have a history of hernia-related problems, is back home and OK. A publicist said Sheen is expected to be back on the set of “Two and a Half Men” when taping resumes Tuesday, according to The Dallas Morning News.
