WIth the weather so bad in so much of the U.S., on Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, "The Weather Channel (TWC) set a new one day digital record and plans the most live coverage ever in the network’s history," TWC announced.

The announcment said, "Across all digital properties, TWC Companies set a new daily record of 217.4 million page views, and weather.com saw a new record high of 126.7 million page views Jan. 31. New highs were also seen for TWC mobile Web as well as applications such as TWC for iPhone, Android, and iPad."

The statement continued, "On the network side, TWC averaged its highest prime time delivery for 2011 to date on Jan. 31 reaching 656,000 viewers among households and 358,000 among adults 25-54 (tied with Jan. 9, 2011),  and averaged its No. 2 total day delivery for 2011 to date on Jan. 31 among households and adults 25-54."

The Weather Channel said its stats come from NHI, MultiTrak, prime time (Mon-Sun 7p-11p), 2011-Jan 31, 2011, HH (000) and P25-54 (000); and from NHI, MultiTrak, total day (Mon-Sun 3a-3a), 2011-January 31, 2011, HH (000) and P25-54 (000).

As the storms continue this week, it would not be a surprise if TWC’s numbers, both online and on-air, just get higher.
