A successful NBC reality show has suspended a company that co-produces the show, and the reasons for the split are unclear, Deadline.com reports.

3 Ball Prods. has been suspended from "The Biggest Loser," the story reports. 3 Ball was involved with the show from the start, with the outfit running physical production on the series created by Reveille and 25/7 Productions, the story notes.

Reveille confirmed the split, which the story says is temporary, and said in a statement that it would assume all production responsibilities, while 25/7 would continue as executive producers, the article says.

The suspension comes just after 3 Ball premiered its own weight-loss reality series, ABC’s "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition," which debuted with solid ratings. The article notes there are two other theories about the suspension: an audit of the back-end participation on "The Biggest Loser" allegedly led to questions from 3 Ball executives, and Reveille’s recent decision to add to its creative and production executive ranks, the story says.

Reveille for the first time has hired a head of production, and is looking to take on more production responsibilities, the article notes.
