Fox News’ Roger Ailes Furious at Sarah Palin

Fox News chief Roger Ailes was reportedly furious at Sarah Palin over a recent move by the former Alaska governor, reports New York Magazine’s Daily Intel blog.

Ailes was angry that Palin didn’t announce her decision not to run for president on his cable news network, the story reports.

Palin made the announcement on Mark Levin’s talk-radio program on Oct. 5, a decision that angered Ailes to the point that he considered taking Palin off the air until her $1 million-per-year contract ends in 2013, the story says. Palin reportedly decided to make the announcement via talk radio because she was upset at how Fox News has given Karl Rove, one of her critics, a platform, the story adds.

After an intermediary talked with Palin, she apologized, but the tensions still exist, according to the piece. One problem is that Palin hasn’t become the kind of TV pull that Ailes had hoped, the story points out.
