Son of Legendary TV News Anchor Debuts in His Own Anchor Job

The son of a newsman who was a fixture on broadcast television has begun his own career in TV news, and he made his debut today as an anchor.

Luke Russert, the son of Tim Russert — the late NBC News anchorman and longtime host of "Meet the Press" — debuted this morning on MSNBC, reports TVNewser.com.

Correspondent Luke Russert filled in on "Daily Rundown" for Chuck Todd, who is on vacation. Russert usually works the hallways of Congress doing reports. MSNBC plans to let Russert remain behind the desk for Todd through Wednesday.
