Showtime Series Renewed -- Guest List Includes Meryl Streep, Conan O'Brien, Lily Tomlin, Molly Shannon Deadline
A freshman Showtime series will be back for a second season after the pay-cable network revealed it is renewing the show, Deadline.com reports.
The show is Lisa Kudrow's "Web Therapy," in which Kudrow plays an unctuous, self-involved psychotherapist named Fiona Wallice. The half-hour show originated as an online series before Showtime gave it the greenlight.
Season two will feature at least 10 episodes, and will include an arc with Oscar winner Meryl Streep, among other high-profile guest appearances.
Said Kudrow: “We are thrilled that Showtime will air more of the half-hour format of 'Web Therapy.' We really love this version of the show. Of course, we are over the moon that Meryl Streep will be in this coming season. She was effortlessly hilarious and it’s a great story. We have Lily Tomlin back, who is ALWAYS fantastically funny. Conan O’Brien is beyond, fantastic, he’s a perfect improviser. We’re honestly giddy over the people we have for this season.”
In addition to those names, Rosie O'Donnell, Molly Shannon, Minnie Driver and Selma Blair are also slated to appear.
