A "Desperate Housewives" actress is the first cast member to join a new pilot, Deadline.com reports. Vanessa Williams has been cast in the ABC project "666 Park Avenue," the story reports.

Williams will play the wife of the owner of the title building, a historic New York City apartment building that has supernatural occurrences, the story notes.

Williams, who signed a talent holding deal with ABC in November, will end the last season of "Housewives" playing divorcee Renee Perry, the piece adds.
