The iconic lead singer from the group Fleetwood Mac during its heyday will be the guest mentor on this week’s episode of Fox’s "American Idol," reports Entertainment Weekly.

"Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe tweeted a picture of himself with songstress Stevie Nicks to confirm the news. Nicks will be offering insights and advice to the nine remaining contestants.

Nicks’ connection to "Idol" comes by way of Jimmy Iovine, the show’s in-house musical mentor. Iovine, who is also the chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M, has a long history of working with Stevie. He produced her first three solo albums in the 1980s after she left Fleetwood Mac.

Nicks was with the group when it reached its commercial peak with the 1977 album “Rumours,” which has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide.
