A drama series on one of the major cable networks has been renewed, the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker blog reports. FX ordered 13 episodes of “Justified,” bringing it back for a fourth season.

Based on an Elmore Leonard short story, the series stars Timothy Olyphant as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, a character known for his smooth talking and his white hat, the piece notes.

"[Executive producer] Graham Yost and his writing team continue to deliver compelling material and richly drawn characters brought to life by the brilliance of Timothy Olyphant and our terrific ensemble cast," said Nick Grad, FX executive vice president of original programming, according to the story.

  1. Glad to hear it as Justified is one of my favorite programs. Two notes, however:
    1) The characters were indeed richly drawn but now are in danger of becoming caricatures.
    2) In “Mags Bennett,” Graham Yost and team bear the dubious distinction of killing off after a single season one of the greatest characters I’ve ever seen in any crime drama, depicted by an actor (Margo Martindale) who won an Emmy for her performance, despite limited
    time on screen.

  2. This is a great show. It is awesome that they have agreed to bring it back again. Justified and Southland make Tuesday nights one of the best nights for drama on television
