HBO has decided not to go forward with a project from director Spike Lee, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed.
The project is Lee’s boxing drama "Da Brick." The project, also produced by Doug Ellin and Mike Tyson, was inspired by aspects of Tyson’s upbringing, the story says.
HBO’s decision to pass on the project means that Ellin, the creator and showrunner of HBO’s “Entourage,” has lost out on a second project this pilot season, as HBO also passed on his "40," a pilot about a group of men exploring life after turning 40, the story notes.
